FAQs
1. What is Localboxoffice?
We have developed a sophisticated but user friendly box office programme allowing users to sell tickets to their events. Localboxoffice is about encouraging local events. We want local groups to be able to advertise and sell their tickets and for local people to be able to find out what’s on, and buy tickets.
2. How does Localboxoffice work?
Ø Register an account
Ø Provide details of your event, set the event date, times, ticket prices and venue details
Ø Put a link to us on your website, or print our address on your publicity http://yournamehere.localboxoffice.com
Ø Leave the sales process to us, from data capture of the customer's contact details to the credit card processing.
Ø When a customer purchases a ticket, we generate an eticket which is a reference sent to them in an email. This is their ticket.
Ø You can view the sales figures at any time in your account page or set up a regular email update.
Ø At the time of the event, simply print off the ticket summary and reconcile the names and eticket references to those of your customers’.
3. What does it cost to sell tickets?
The service is FREE for everyone to sell tickets. There are certain upgrades and advertising features that cost money, but if you want to sell tickets and use a great box office system, you can do so for FREE.
4. Are there any setup costs to sell tickets?
There are no setup costs.
5. Are there any ongoing fees?
There are no ongoing fees.
6. What does it cost to buy tickets online?
It costs localboxoffice to take payments and we have to pass that cost on, however we try to keep the booking fee as low as possible. Our booking fee is 5.5% of the transaction value (not the ticket value) plus 20 pence. For tickets over £50, the fee is 4.5% plus 20 pence. We also have the ability for the people selling the tickets to absorb a percentage of the booking fee themselves. This fee is simply deducted when we transfer the monies owed to the seller.

7. Why does the booking fee change?
The booking fee varies, because rather than charging a standard one size fits all fee, we try to mirror the cost to us.
8. Is it secure?
Localboxoffice uses the latest SSL technology as well as fraud prevention tools to ensure maximum security when carrying out all transactions.
9. How do I/we get paid?
You can start selling tickets straightaway, but to receive your monies, localboxoffice needs to receive a signed seller’s agreement which can be downloaded from your account page. This document is an agreement between you and us and will also include your bank account and sort code details. We then transfer the monies owed to you on the Tuesday following the end of your event date. If you have multiple dates for multiple events, you get the money after each event.
10. Why is Localboxffice cheaper than other ticket sellers?
We want to try and encourage local events and although we are a business, we try to keep our fees to the barest minimum.
11. If I use localboxoffice, can I still sell tickets elsewhere?
Yes you certainly can. We understand that a lot of tickets are sold on the door or face to face through friends. However we offer the ability to store these other sales (at no cost) on your account page, so you can build up a thorough picture of all your ticket sales.
